Inglorious Basterds

Two new photos from writer/director Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. Opening in 2009, the film stars Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Daniel Bruhl, Eli Roth, Samm Levine, B.J. Novak, Til Schweiger, Gedeon Burkhard, Paul Rust, Michael Bacall, Omar Doom, Sylvester Groth, Julie Dreyfus, Jacky Ido, August Diehl, Martin Wuttke, Richard Sammel, Christian Berkel, Sonke Mohring, Michael Fassbender, Mike Myers, Rod Taylor, Denis Menochet, Cloris Leachman, Maggie Cheung and Samuel L. Jackson.

The basic synopsis is that a group of Jewish soldiers is put behind enemy lines during WW2, and wreaks havoc upon Nazi's in the most gruesome ways. It's going to be epic.

Side note- Just for realism all of the 8 man jewish soldier crew who was cast happen to be Jewish in real life.

Knowing

I'm indifferent towards this movie, it look well done and the trailer is good enough. I am not a huge Nick Cage fan, and it also looks a lot like "Next".

Side note -End of the world thrillers are all the rage now.

What Doesn't Kill You

Very excited for this movie, Big Mark Ruffalo fan and haven't seen Ethan Hawke in anything worthwhile since "Training Day".

Powder Blue

This movie looks like a very stylized, darker version of "Crash" in my opinion. It offers a high profile cast, and is set in Los Angeles.

Smokin' Aces writer/director Joe Carnahan says on his official website that a prequel to the 2007 release has been greenlit. He wrote the following on October 30th:

Finally, some actual 'Smokin Aces' news. Universal has officially greenlit the prequel and we are underway. Cameos will abound. Trust me.

The original action-comedy starred Ben Affleck, Andy Garcia, Alicia Keys, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Ryan Reynolds, Peter Berg, Taraji Henson, Chris Pine, Martin Henderson, Jason Bateman and Common.

The International: New Poster

The International Poster

See below for trailer.

Star Trek Images:

So some people are calling this Star Trek 90210. I admit the cast is a little younger than I would like, specifically in the role of Captain Kirk. Although I do see the need f this franchise to reach out to a new generation to keep Star Trek relevant for years to come.

Angels and Demons!

Angels-Priestsx-LargeAngelsfirstpeak

These new screens from the up coming Angels and Demons movie look great. In my opinion the novel Angels and Demons is better than The Davinci Code, both of which are great reads by dan brown.

Legend of Zelda Trailer?

First of all i think all game to movie adaptations have been horrid.

I honestly can't tell if this trailer is fake. If it's real it looks horrible, literally looks like a video game. If its fake it looks to good, like someone had way to much time. You be the judge.

Ninja Scroll

"Alex Tse (Watchmen) will write Ninja Scroll, Warners Bros. Pictures' adaptation of the classic Japanese anime feature. Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is producing along with Madhouse Pictures and Jungo Maruta.

"Ninja" is set in feudal Japan and follows a ninja who must fight eight demonic warriors in order to save Japan. The hard-R movie, released in 1993 in Japan, featured a villain with stone skin, a hunchback with a wasp nest as his hump and a woman whose snake tattoos come to life.

Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Mike Ireland are producing for Appian, which has a first-look deal with Warners." -Comingsoon.net

Dragonball.....

Now usually I don't like talking negative about movies,(if i don't like it i ignore it on her entirly) but this new Dragonball trailer makes me angry.

They have taken a perfectly good story line and transformed it into a bad Mortal Kombat. (and Mortal Kombat was bad) They had everything the needed to make this a good movie and it's obvious that they blew it.

Milk: I know it's late

Yeah, so I know I'm late but I can't resist putting this one up. The story is great, and the cast is unbeatable right now.

Most definatly going to be thrown into an Oscar nomination.

Guest Post:

Madagascar 2 has an almost seamless connection to the original version. The producers do a great job of picking up at a point that we could have assumed would take place based on the ending of the first. Seems funny smart the way the linked the wild and tamed animals together in the MOtherland. The penguins are preparing to make a major move to mainstream hollywood. Even though the trailers are great and i'm certain this won't disappoint, I'm curious to see if the flow of the movie is as comical as the edited trailers. - Jake Habit

Gran Torino Trailer

The trailer for Gran Torino has been released, looks good. Read more below.

Ong Bak 2

If you have never seen Ong Bak, I highly suggest you. I just saw this trailer for Ong Bak 2 and it looks amazing. Tony Jaa is back and if you have never seen his work before you should. It's the best fighting/action sequences i have ever seen, plus they are all real. No stuntmen, No wires, no special effects, this movie will blow your mind.

New Watchmen

This is the new Watchmen trailer that debuted on the Scream awards the other night. The new footage only further confirms to me that this will be a groundbreaking film visually, and for those who have read the graphic novel you know the movie already has a strong story line. I believe this movie will be monumental in the way that The Matrix was when it first came out. If you haven't read the novel i highly suggest you pick it up at your local Barnes and Noble for about 20 bucks.(which is a great deal as far as graphic novels go)

Gran Torino

Walt Kowalski, a racist Korean War veteran whose prized possession is a classic car that catches the eye of local gangs in his Detroit neighborhood. One of the troubled kids who covets the vehicle is from a family of Hmong immigrant neighbors, whom Kowalski has long resented.

"The young kid, as part of a gang initiation, tries to steal it, and the old guy gets him at the end of the M-1, which becomes kind of a big deal," Eastwood says. "The kid has to do penance because of the pride of the Asian group. They make him do penance. He has to come over, and the old guy doesn't want anything to do with him, doesn't want him anywhere around."

"Walt helps him get a job and helps him toughen up a bit," Eastwood says. "(Walt) doesn't work construction. He's retired. But he gets the boy in through a buddy, an old crony. They take him in and try to show him how to handle himself in life."

The Burrowers

My initial thought of "the burrowers" was oh god not another Tremors/Pitch Black/The Descent, but after viewing the trailer it looks like the film could have some potential. I'm a fan of the western genre and love when they get the gritty old' west feeling into films rather than a polished studio look. This movie looks to do just that, while adding a little horror in. pretty interested to see how this turns out.

Sukiyaki Western Django

"Famed Japanese auteur Takashi Miike, who is best known for cult classics such as Audition, Ichi: the Killer, and Children of Lost Souls, brings a fresh new look at the beloved spaghetti Western genre in Sukiyaki Western Django. Two clans, Genji, the white clan led by Yoshitsune, and Heike, the red clan led by Kiyomori, battle for a legendary treasure hidden in a poor mountain town. One day a lone gunman, burdened with deep emotional scars but blessed with incredible shooting skills, drifts into town. Expectations reach a boiling point as everyone wonders which gang the gunman will finally decide to join. The Watchmen

Check out this link from Plasmic studio, has some great fade in's from the graphic novel to the motion picture. Looks great.

Really excited for this film, if your expecting a Marvel action packed superhero flick this isnt for you. Considering only one of the "superheros" has any supernatural power.

The International

One of my favorite actors Clive Owen, The international reminds me a little of the quantum of Solace trailer. Kinda sounds like a 007 plot too. Looks good Anyway. Due out February.

Thought this looked cool.

The Spirit

The Spirit Artwork
Frank Millers back to bring us another visually stylized ride about a cop who comes back from the dead to fight crime. The movie looks amazing but samual l. jackson is cast as the villian, anything with him attached makes me weary.

Conan

Literally last week i was involved in a conversation and i said if there was an action movie to remake/continue its Conan. The movies in the early stages of development and is rumored to have Brett Ratner attached. The hardest part of this process will be casting conan, there no good actors with the size to play the beast. Also they cant make this a polished studio movie, it has to be gritty and dark in order to capture Conan properly.  There are alot of ways to destroy this movie but i hope it turns out great.

Avatar:

Avatar is James Camerons new film which reportedly follows "a paralyzed former marine who undergoes an experiment to exist as an avatar, another version of himself. The avatar is not paralyzed, but is an alien — 10 feet tall and blue." The film "pits a human army against an alien army on a distant planet, using live actors and digital technology to make a large cast of virtual creatures who convey emotion as authentically as humans."
"It makes Titanic look like a picnic," Cameron said recently during an interview from Los Angeles, where he is working furiously on the new film."

Games To Movies

gears-of-war.jpg
"Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is set to direct the Gears of War movie, based on the popular Epic Games title.
Screenwriter Chris Morgan has been drafted to pen the script for New Line -- his previous credits include Wanted and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
Epic Games exec Mark Rein told Variety in June, "It's like with our games, you can have it right or have it right now. We want to get it right. There's no timetable for us. We just want to make as good a movie as we can, and we think [Wiseman's] the guy who will do it."
Gears of War is tentatively set for a 2010 release."

"Max Payne, adapted from the 3DRealms game, hits theaters on October 17 courtesy of 20th Century Fox.
The story stars Mark Wahlberg as maverick cop hell-bent on revenge against those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. His obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmarish journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal
John Moore, whose most recent projects include WWII drama Behind Enemy Lines, horror remake The Omen and airborne adventure Flight of the Phoenix, directed.
The movie also stars Mila Kunis, Beau Bridges, and Chris Bridges."

-Im not totally sold on the idea of game to movie adaptations. I can see why studios like to produce them because they already have a built in fan base and buzz, which means green. The problem is most of these games have no story, IMP there's only a couple that can make that transition.(e.g. Halo) Max Payne will be the first released in a long line of adaptations greenlit for production. The trailer for max payne looks good captured the dark atmosphere of game so they may have done a good job.

RockNRolla

It's about time Guy Richie is back and looking stronger than ever.

This next part is very important..

This movie looks great, the trailer gets my adrenaline pumping.
